Annapolis, MD – Former County State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess defected the incumbent, Wes Adams in the just concluded election. Love to be called Anne, Anne is a was appointed as an interim State’s Attorney between 2013 – 2015 complete the tenure of the then County Executive.
Anne Colt Leitess, however, lost to Wes Adam in the 2015 County executive election. Afterward, She was hired by Baltimore City to head the Special Victim’s unit where she led a team of 15 prosecutors.
A graduate of law from University of Baltimore Law School who started her career as a law clerk then when on to become a prosecutor.
During her campaign, she stated that her reasons for running are to restore experience, effectiveness, and ethics to the Office of the State’s Attorney, to hold offenders accountable, rehabilitate those who can be helped and protect the community from crime.
She believes the job of the State’s Attorney includes seeking justice without politics playing any role in it. Anne Colt Leitess was also the former President of Anne Arundel County Bar association.
