Annapolis, MD – The newly elected County Executive, Steuart Pittman on Friday launched a new website, www.pittmantransition.com to interact and to encourage the county resident to engage with his administration regarding their concerns and issues that require attention. On the website, they reinstated that the goal of the transaction process is to create a government that supports every community and their citizens.
With little time for elaborate preparation, the income administration has streamlined the transition process into two phases, the pre-inauguration phase which includes building the team, soliciting community input and articulating the vision. The phase two of the transaction process, post-inauguration, will include the completion of the budget, reviewing recommendations and conducting an in-depth review of the need of the county.
To kick start, County Executive Steuart Pittman has named his transaction team to include;
- Janet S. Owens was born in Annapolis and was the first female elected County Executive for Anne Arundel County. She served two terms from 1998-2006. Her priorities were education, economic development, and land preservation. Janet received her BA from George Washington University and completed her MA and doctoral course of study at the University of Massachusetts. She served in major state positions in Massachusetts before returning to Maryland, then served as the Director of the Housing Commission and the Department of Aging before being elected to the Orphans Court. Following her tenure as County Executive, she served as a Board member and then Chair of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation. Janet S. Owens will serve as a Co-Chair.
